Gov'ner declared it a state of emergency
And still our bus filled to West Virgin-i-ay

The heavens poured water in driving dropsy drops
Tornadoes touched down night before in many spots

Robin and Margie had finalized our list
We wondered if people would come? Would their plans persist?
But folks piled on, and the windows were full of mist

We trained on the bus in the ways of our work with ACT
And Walt was our trainer, who detailed important facts
Go: Baltimore to West Virgin-i-ay

We "paired" with our drivers, in ones, twos, and threesies, threesies
(Drivers had come from close by, and from far DC)
The skies cleared up, and the sun came out! Glory be!

We drove into town, and we drove past the rivers bloating
Talked with the voters, informed them of "Early Voting."
Sun shines bright in West-Virgin-i-ay
