Why am I taking a trip? During the past two years, I've become very frustrated with the Bush Administration's aggressive assault on our environment. As I've become re-engaged in our political process I've become infuriated with Bush's broad assault on the many progressive rights that make our country so great....civil rights, women's rights, working rights, environmental rights, gay rights, constitutional rights, and the right not to be misled into placing our uniformed young men and women in needless jeopardy. Bush is certain to win here in Texas, but I am determined to work towards precluding his winning in the key swing states that we can visit with our Driving Votes team here in Texas.

Gleefully to Albuquerque... - October 01, 2004

As most of you likely saw, John Kerry's performance in the Presidential debate was simply magnificent! The noticeable difference between Kerry and Bush was stunning….even more objective people than me had to wonder how did this guy ever get to be President of the United States of America. As much as I hate to say, I was embarrassed at times for him….the unusual facial expressions, the loss of his train of thought, the pitiful pleading for our votes….maybe its time he took that National Guard drug test. There was and is something generally remiss with his behavior and performance!

The renewed energy and invigoration provided by last night debate is just what we needed as 7 of us start our journey to Albuquerque for the Driving Votes Action Weekend. Thank you W for making our job this weekend much easier!

In case you missed it, by the way. Just minutes before the start of the debate, the GOP controlled House issued an admonishment of Tom Delay for attempting to trade his endorsement of a candidate for a vote on the Medicare Bill passed last year. More sneaky dirty tricks from a despicable human being.
