Why am I taking a trip? During the past two years, I've become very frustrated with the Bush Administration's aggressive assault on our environment. As I've become re-engaged in our political process I've become infuriated with Bush's broad assault on the many progressive rights that make our country so great....civil rights, women's rights, working rights, environmental rights, gay rights, constitutional rights, and the right not to be misled into placing our uniformed young men and women in needless jeopardy. Bush is certain to win here in Texas, but I am determined to work towards precluding his winning in the key swing states that we can visit with our Driving Votes team here in Texas.

The other day I provided some of my thoughts on the unusual nature of some of the polls during the last few weeks. Apparently some of my opinions are in line with those of Michael Moore. Check out his thoughts, warnings and optimism at this post.

The bottom line is let’s stay determined and work as hard as ever. This election is like a marathon, each candidate’s lead will ebb and flow, but we have to keep our energy up for the rest of the race...which is only 40 more days.
