For months, the Bush campaign has been spending millions to paint John Kerry as a flip-flopper. Imagine such a charge coming from our own nation’s flip-flopper in chief? Bush pledged not to touch the social security surplus, he has. He was against a patient’s bill of rights, now he’s for it. We won’t negotiate or offer incentives with North Korea, now we are. Bush opposed the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, and then he supported it. Bush opposed investigations into WMD intelligence failures, opposed the creation of the 911 commission, opposed to his National Security Adviser having to testify, objected to having to testify himself; he flip flopped on each of those positions.
Throughout his life, John Kerry has always stood up for what was right, whether it was popular or not. He is a strong man, a man of integrity, and a man of character. Negative character attacks can only work if we can't see the truth for ourselves. But anyone who saw Kerry's speech knows that he speaks the truth loud and clear. John Kerry will restore respect, honor, and credibility to the White House.
I was amused when I saw President Bush flat out lie to the middle class crowd gathered for him the day after the Democratic convention, "John Kerry will raise your taxes!" Obviously he missed Kerry's speech where he advocated cutting taxes for middle class taxpayers (people who actually need it) and simply rolling back the tax cuts on those who make more than $200,000 a year. Yes there is a clear choice this election, one whose allegiance is to the richest 2% of Americans and their corporate cronies and another whose vision is to contribute to to the overall common good of our country, health care, education, the environment, and a safer world. President Bush claims to want to run on his record, I couldn’t agree more. Clearly the choice is Kerry for this election.
