Why am I taking a trip? I'm driving because America, Democracy and the World just cannot take another four years of George W. Bush and his evil henchmen.

About me: I moved to the USA from Melbourne, Australia in December of 2003, and have been deeply affected by the intense divisions in the USA, and the unconscionable actions of the current administration. As a foreigner, I guess I have a somewhat objective view of the U.S., and it pains me to see the way in which the last four years have taken this wonderful nation so far away from the direction of its founding ideals. Notions of liberty, democracy, decency, tolerance and reason have all been shattered in a maelstrom of deceit, manipulation, greed and mercenary motivations. Unfortunately, I am not a citizen and I can't vote. However I pay my taxes, and this administration's policies affect my family and I the same way in which they affect everyone else. So I'm doing this as a way to exercise my political voice and have a say in the political system of the country that I now, and in future would like to proudly call my home.
